ROSSLYN, Va., (June 17, 2013) — Effective June 17, The Aerospace Corporation will relocate its offices from Rosslyn to Crystal City. The Aerospace offices in Rosslyn closed on Friday June 14.
“This relocation will have a number of benefits to both the corporation and its customers,” said Dr. Wanda Austin, Aerospace president and CEO. “The new office will allow better access to and interaction with customers, a result of the new, more centrally located offices. In addition, we will increase our efficiency and reduce our leased costs.”
The address of the new Aerospace offices is 2011 Crystal Drive, Arlington, Va., 22202.
The leadership of Systems Planning, Engineering, and Quality (SPEQ) and Civil and Commercial Operations (CCO) businesses will move from Rosslyn to new offices in Crystal City. SPEQ business is led by Rand Fisher, senior vice president. SPEQ provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, developmental planning, system-of-systems engineering, threat reduction, and mission assurance that help shape future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. SPEQ is a unique group in that it not only directly supports major NSS customers – the Missile Defense Agency, Air Force Space Command, and the U.S. Strategic Command – but also provides a broad range of services and support across the NSS enterprise, both internal and external to Aerospace.
CCO business is led by Randy Kendall, vice president. CCO provides expertise gained from experience in space and space-related areas to civil and commercial business customers who operate in the public interest. CCO customers include NASA, the Department of Energy, the FBI, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The Aerospace Corporation is a California nonprofit corporation, which operates a federally funded research and development center and has almost 4,000 employees. It provides technical guidance and advice on all aspects of space missions to military, civil, and commercial customers to assure space mission success.
