Members of the Governor’s Military Council toured the Aerospace El Segundo facilities on Monday, Dec. 9, then participated in a panel discussion with representatives of California defense contractors.
The eleven members of the council in attendance toured the Spacelift Telemetry Acquisition and Reporting System (STARS) lab and the Physical Sciences Laboratories. The defense contractors panel that followed was focused on promoting and retaining aerospace jobs in California. A reception followed the afternoon’s events.
The Governor’s Military Council was established by Gov. Jerry Brown in March of this year “in an effort to protect and expand the military’s vital role in national security and California’s economy.” The council is chaired by former Congresswoman and Under Secretary of State Ellen Tauscher.
