EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Feb 26, 2014) – The Aerospace Corporation was recognized as a 2020 Women on Boards 2013 Winning “W” company. A “W” designated company has achieved a 20 percent or more makeup of women on their Board. Aerospace’s board is comprised of 32 percent women, or six out of 19 board members.
“Aerospace is honored to be recognized for the diversity of our board,” said Malissia Clinton, senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary. “Leadership and commitment to our people start at the top. This recognition reflects our commitment to diversity not only on our board but throughout our workforce.”
A nonprofit grassroots campaign, 2020 Women on Boards is committed to increasing the percentage of women who serve on public company boards to 20 percent or greater by the year 2020. Its mission is to educate stakeholders on the importance of board diversity, and to showcase companies that achieve this milestone as examples of good corporate governance.
The Aerospace Corporation is a California nonprofit corporation that operates a federally funded research and development center and has almost 3,500 employees. It provides technical guidance and advice on all aspects of space missions to military, civil, and commercial customers to assure space mission success.
