Aerospace Signs Lease for New Office in Chantilly, VA
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (8/1/03) -- The Aerospace Corporation has signed a long-term lease with Corporate Office Properties Trust of Columbia, Md., for 88,094 square feet of office space in Chantilly, Va., which will accommodate an increased company presence for support of its government customers.
The office space will be contained in a new, three-story building to be constructed at 4851 Stonecraft Boulevard, also referred to as Greens III, in the Westfields Corporate Center. Aerospace currently operates from a building at 15059 Conference Center Drive, which is adjacent to the new project site.
Groundbreaking for the new building took place on Friday, Aug. 1. Completion of the new building is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2004.Dr. William F. Ballhaus Jr., president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, said that "increasing government requirements for our services and new responsibilities to our customers require increasing our staff and facilities in Northern Virginia. We are extremely excited to be expanding in this strategically located business park."
The Aerospace Corporation is an independent, nonprofit company that provides objective technical analyses and assessments for national security space programs and selected civil and commercial space programs in the national interest. The company's principal customer in Northern Virginia is the National Reconnaissance Office.
