The Aerospace Corporation and Starburst Accelerator to Co-host Space Technology Accelerator Event
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (March 14, 2017)– The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace), a leader in space technology and game-changing innovation, and Starburst Accelerator, the leading global aerospace startup accelerator, are co-hosting an accelerator event on March 21 at the Aerospace Corporation headquarters in El Segundo, CA. Several startups developing the latest innovative technology in aerospace and space will present their businesses to an audience of approximately 200 industry leaders and stakeholders.
This accelerator event will help identify technologies being developed by new space and non-traditional commercial companies that have the potential to deliver affordable and resilient space capabilities. Aerospace and Starburst are partnering to accelerate the process of bringing these latest technological advances to industry leaders and government stakeholders, which can benefit both government and civilian space needs.
“We are ecstatic to partner with The Aerospace Corporation for our first LA accelerator event of 2017,” said Vandad Espahbodi, COO of Starburst Accelerator. “The opportunities in aerospace and space are limitless this year and we are looking forward to discovering which startups will push boundaries and help advance the industry even further.”
Steve Isakowitz, Aerospace president and CEO, will address the audience on the state of innovation in the space sector, after which almost a dozen start-ups will take the stage to pitch their ideas on potential revolutionary space technologies. Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to network while visiting exhibition booths featuring the latest in space innovation by Aerospace Corporation staff and successful start-up companies.
“We are seeing an unprecedented rate of change in our industry,” Isakowitz said. “I am excited to be hosting this Starburst Accelerator event and to further connect with the commercial sector on some exceptional emerging technologies. Together, we can better address the nation’s growing need for rapid insertion of innovative solutions to tough problems.”
Members of the media who are interested in attending this event should contact Lianne McGinley or Jennifer Laski on or before March 16, 2017 for information on submitting required credentials. For more information about the event, visit starburst.aero/LA.
