Wanda Austin Named One of 100 Women Leaders in STEM

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (June 27, 2012) — Dr. Wanda Austin, president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, has been named one of 100 Women Leaders in STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Math) by STEMconnector™, whose goal is to attract more women to STEM careers.

100 Women Leaders in STEM showcases the careers and initiatives of more than one hundred women leaders who are active role models for the underrepresented segment of women in STEM. STEMconnector™ supports corporations with integrating STEM best practices to develop their workforce pipeline.

“I am honored to be included on this distinguished list,” stated Austin, “especially if it encourages more young women into careers in STEM. Within the national security community especially, the need for trained scientists and engineers will only grow in the coming years. It’s critical to our national security.”

The 100 Women Leaders in STEM launch takes place at the U.S. News STEM Solutions Summit in Dallas, TX, on June 27, 28 and 29.
